Rose Farm is
owned and operated by Duane and Margaret Rose. It is
located in a scenic, rural location 30 km. north-east of Regina,
Saskatchewan. The landscape changes from the Regina Plain to the gently
rolling hills of the Qu'Appelle Valley. The aspen, willow, and dogwood
bluffs on our property are home to many species of birds and wildlife.
We raise minority and heritage breeds on our farm. We have some purebred
Shetland
sheep, a wool breed that produces fine, naturally-coloured fleece and
Katahdin sheep, a hair breed which produces
mild-flavoured meat. Our free range Red Sussex chickens produce brown
eggs. We also have several Barred Rock chickens. Our farm is home to numerous other animals including
two large standard donkeys, two llamas, several barn cats, a livestock
guardian dog and a farm dog.
Shepherd's Cottage Wool is our studio and showroom on the farm.
In the studio wool fibre art is produced and Shetland knitting yarn, weaving yarn,
and roving is for sale. Louet spinning wheels and other equipment
are available.
Rose Farm Implements
services and repairs small engines, small farm equipment,
yard tractors, light duty trucks, and
Ramrod Taskmaster Mini Skid Loaders and attachments. Welding,
fabrication, and modification of small farm equipment is also available.
Custom power line trenching and post hole digging is also offered.
